Even More Ways to Donate To CritterAid!
Many ways to donate
Critteraid has never received any constant donations in order for the Board of Directors to budget and fiscally plan without worry. Donations received can be restricted and designated to specific animals or projects and tax receipts are issued to donors accordingly. Although we apply for grants on a continual basis, whether they are governmental, corporate or philanthropic, it is the individual donations of ordinary people that have sustained us over all these years. We consider those people “extraordinary”.

From time to time, Critteraid receives urgent calls from individuals who have found themselves in a emergency situation with their beloved pet. Some need emergency veterinary treatment for their animals. Our Board of Directors will very quickly try and establish a happy solution and depending on our financial situation at the time or our ability to fundraise or the caller’s ability to help with repayment, an interest-free loan may be established and monthly payments worked out to support these calls for help. We will try and post photos and updates on our Outreach Program page. In many cases, appeals to the public are made and through the kindness of individual donors, some of these bills are paid off sooner than later. Presently, we have some animal owners repaying loans into 2017. To the owners/guardians of the animals, we understand your plight and we will try and help if we can. To the donors, our appreciation to you is heartfelt.
Critteraid Legacy Fund
CFSO LogoPart of the Strategic Planning process at Critteraid has been the issue of “Succession”. In all the years that Critteraid has been operating, we have seen many animal rescue organizations start up. But we have also seen a good many of them collapse. We know that our present Directors and other Volunteers will not be with Critteraid indefinitely and, as such, we need to address many of the changes that are going to happen when those days come.
Anne Brewster, once a Director and a lifetime member of Critteraid, personally addressed one very important issue – a Critteraid Legacy Fund through the Community Foundation of Anne Brewster and Madeleinethe South Okanagan (CFSO). In 2008, Anne started the Critteraid Legacy Fund with a sizeable donation.
Each year, we try and add to it. The interest that is earned on the investment is returned to the Legacy Fund to help it grow. We invite others to join with Anne and Critteraid to contribute to Critteraid’s Legacy Fund through the CFSO.
