Critteraid Estate Planning & Legacy Fund

Securing the future of our animals

Estate Planning

Nobody likes the thought of writing a will. It’s an overwhleming task, but nonetheless, one that needs to be addressed at some point to ensure your final wishes are carried out and your finances are taken care of.

After you’ve provided for your family, our hope is that you will consider a gift in your will to the animals of Critteraid. Your gift will help to ensure that we can continue the fight against animal cruelty and taking care of the animals in our care with veterinary care and supplies and shelter. Your bequest, large or small, will help to heal a frightened, hurt or hungry animal.

Legacy Fund

Part of the Strategic Planning process at Critteraid has been the issue of “Succession”. In all the years that Critteraid has been operating, we have seen many animal rescue organizations start up, but we have also seen a good many of them collapse. We know that our present Directors and other Volunteers will not be with Critteraid indefinitely and, as such, we need to address many of the changes that are going to happen when those days come.

Anne Brewster, once a Director and a lifetime member of Critteraid, personally addressed this very important issue by creating the Critteraid Legacy Fund through the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan (CFSO). In 2008, Anne started the Critteraid Legacy Fund with a sizeable donation.

Each year, we try and add to it. The interest that is earned on the investment is returned to the Legacy Fund to help it grow. We invite others to join with Anne and Critteraid to contribute to Critteraid’s Legacy Fund through the CFSO.
