Here at Critteraid Farm, we believe every animal deserves a safe, warm place to call home, especially as the winter season approaches. Our horse shelter, however, was in desperate need of repairs—it had seen many seasons come and go, and time had taken its toll. This temporary shelter was falling apart, and with limited resources, we knew it was crucial to make it safe and comfortable for our horses.
That’s when Acres Enterprises came to the rescue, going above and beyond to help. Not only did they supply a donation towards the purchase of materials, but they also provided volunteers from their skilled team to ensure our barn could endure another season and offer our horses the comfort they deserve.
A Generous Team Effort for Our Horses
Acres Enterprises stepped up in a big way, sending three of their own to volunteer their expertise and time. Deina Albrecht, Acre’s Director of General Contracting and Critteraid’s Project Director, Project Manager Jody Dunn and Business Development Manager Court Foursyth—both experienced carpenters—spent two days working tirelessly to repair the barn. They didn’t just bring skills; they brought a level of care and dedication that left us all deeply moved.
Through their hard work, the structure was reinforced, essential repairs were made, and the horse shelter was finally brought back to life. Thanks to their efforts, our three horses now have a secure, cozy place to call their own this winter.
A Temporary Solution, with Hope for a New Barn in the Future
While this repair has given our horses a much-needed upgrade, we know that a proper barn is still on the horizon. Our goal is to build a permanent, safe structure tailored to the needs of our horses, and we’re actively working to raise funds to make that a reality. But until then, the Acres Enterprises team has ensured that our horses have a warm, comfortable place to call home.
We’re incredibly grateful to Acres Enterprises for this act of kindness and for sending such talented volunteers to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our animals. Our horses approve—and with their new, upgraded shelter, they’re ready to face the winter in warmth and safety.
Thank you, Acres Enterprises, for helping us keep our horses safe and happy. To everyone who supports Critteraid, whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading the word, you are the heart of our mission. With your help, we’re one step closer to building the permanent shelter our horses deserve.
