Update: We are very sad to advise you all that Lucy died on Sunday, November 2nd, 2014. Dr. Kaplan and his staff went to great lengths to help her rally, but in the end, Lucy’s body could no longer respond to what she may have wanted to do. Eyvonne is inconsolable as any of you can imagine. Lucy has been her friend and companion, her love, her reason for getting up in the morning. When anybody mourns the loss of their beloved companion, the grief is unfathomable. We continue to collect donations to go towards paying Lucy’s veterinary costs.

Lucy’s Story:
The Critteraid Board of Directors has recently made a decision to help a certified assistance dog, named Lucy. Lucy helps her disabled mom, Eyvonne who has a steel rod in her back along with several steel plates.

A scooter accident in late October caused a serious injury to Lucy. Originally it was thought that she broke her neck, however, the CT scan at TriLake showed that is not so. She is still in critical care and may or may not make it. We are hoping that the public can help with donations for Lucy’s veterinary care. Eyvonne has signed an agreement to put $50 a month toward the interest-free loan but she needs help.

Donations can be made below via PayPal or can be mailed to us at 113-437 Martin Street, Penticton, BC V2A 5L1 (Box 235). We will post regular updates about Lucy on our website. There are no donations that are too small and we hope to chisel down her veterinary bill one dollar at a time. THANK-YOU!
