Learn More About Fostering

Help animals get ready for a successful adoption!

Critteraid acts in a support capacity to the South Okanagan Women In Need Society. As such, we will provide foster care for family pets belonging to women in Transition House.

In some cases, we have been contacted by the family of a recently deceased senior whose pet or pets need a temporary home while the family decides what to do about the deceased companion animal(s).

Critteraid has partnered with other animal welfare organizations, city pounds as well as individuals to place animals in safe and secure foster situations.

In 2006, Critteraid was approved by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to provide quarantine for eight pet rabbits brought in to Canada by an immigrant family.

If you can provide a foster home for animals while their owners are unable to care for them, please contact us. Lengths of stay can vary from very short term to longer term for special circumstances.
